Obesity Conference 2017 – Promoting Healthy Lifestyles: 13 Dec 2017
http://www.salford.ac.uk/onecpd/courses/the-obesity-conference-and-exhibition
Two thirds of adults in England are classed as overweight or obese costing the NHS an estimated £6.1 billion a year. With obesity rates increasing among children, this growing public health crisis could become unmanageable in the future without meaningful intervention now. As the NHS strives to put itself on a more sustainable footing, a multifaceted prevention based approach to obesity is needed. This will require greater collaboration between the NHS, local authorities and the private sector as well as measures to address food consumption, lack of exercise and poor lifestyle choices.
Join us for the Obesity Conference 2017 where expert speakers will discuss the latest approaches to the growing crisis in public health. Understand the underlying causes of obesity and how to combat them, observe methods for influencing behaviour and improving public health through prevention and see how different organisations can collaborate to find solutions to the obesity problem.
