Description: Very large and busy DGH, with all inpatient care now centred on Royal Blackburn Hospital. Endocrinology team has care of 2-3 wards, with SpRs expected to contribute regularly to ward rounds. Depending on clinical supervisor, clinics may be spread over several sites; mostly Royal Blackburn and Burnley General, but also community clinics in Pendle and Rossendale. On-call commitment is currently (2015) in blocks, with separate shifts for ward cover and acute admissions.
