Description: Tertiary level posting with a large amount of exposure in both Diabetes and Endocrinology. One of 3 centers of excellence in Lipid Metabolism and at the forefront of Diabetes Technology. Longest and one of the most successful diabetes Foot clinics run by Professor Boulton in conjunction with Professor F. Bowling and a specialist Podiatry surgeon averaging between 30-40 patients per session.
Multiple learning opportunities with an option to gain specialty exposure in the above areas and work with leading experts in the field. Also and excellent venue to explore the combination of endocrinology and diabetes in pregnancy due to the presence of a regional obstetrics and gynaecology tertiary service.
There is an option to liaise with paediatric colleagues to obtain exposure to young and adolescent endocrinology.
Recently has moved to a specialist outpatient location with specialised consulting rooms, specialist medical daycase unit for investigations and dedicated seminar rooms.
Research: Associated with University of Manchester and has Clinical Lecturers and Academic fellows associated with appropriate lab exposure.
